Empty Planet Productions - Rétro Paris // Rétro Paris is not the usual movie of Paris….no particular attention has been made to architectural stuff and usual “points of interests” very well known. With this movie I tried to capture the essence of a big city like Paris. The essence made of any given day activities, the beauty of scenes which you usually skip because of the monuments and great places Paris can give you. I’ve had this concept in my mind well before even going to Paris and I tried to capture as much “unique” scenes as I could…many skipped but for essencialy a 3-days capturing “session” I’m more than happy. The concept of “rétro” lays beyond the fact that Paris is such a unique city to see the fusion of the ancient and modern. You can see many stuff from the past, then suddenly change “quartier” or “arrondissement” and see a wild of modern places. Some fuse together nicely, some not (just think of the pyramid in the Louvre’s court which someone consider a beauty while others think it’s utterly horrible), but for sure the effect is that there’s an atmosphere, a special atmosphere of interlacing stories of people, of places, lives, experiences…everything.
